“Zip” is a moving image work that explores spatial relationships through the lens, while delving into the transfer of informational asymmetry and the shifting dynamics of power. The piece investigates the fractures and blind spots within social systems—particularly those shaped by the performative nature of public space—and reveals the inherent vulnerability experienced under the gaze of surveillance.

While lenses are conventionally used to capture visual art, Zip challenges us to consider how space is perceived and felt when our visual senses are limited or entirely absent. What does it mean to navigate the city not as an active observer, but as a passive presence within its flows? In this work, the artist becomes a hidden subject traveling along urban transit lines, relinquishing control and allowing the camera to simulate their experience.
